Absolute Duo (TV) Genres: action, fantasy, harem, school Themes: Plot Summary: After losing a loved one, Tooru Kokonoe enrolls at Kouryou Academy so as to gain a "Blaze," a weapon that is his soul manifestation, for the sake of revenge. He was expecting a weapon... What he got was a shield... How is he to seek revenge with something that isn't even a weapon?! -MAL ---------------------------------- Episode 1: Eh, pretty typical start. For some reason though, I found the spoiler[OP song kinda catchy. Julie kinda reminds me of Est from Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance. They also introduced the main characters, academy, and the premise.] I can't take their spoiler[instructor seriously though with those bunny ears. ] |

Episode 1
Okay, the person in charge of the magic academy is a loli, no real surprise for a show like that. *hears their spoiler[young sounding teacher]* Oh so their spoiler[teacher is a loli also]? *sees a spoiler[full grown woman in a maid outfit, rabbit ears, and acting way her apparent age]* Yeah, she is a spoiler[strange one], the type that spoiler[characters in the series role eyes at or don't know how to react to]. Also, they seem to pick the kind most willing and able to turn on a "partner", before saying they have to make good with a new "partner". And since when has "Tooru" spoiler[sounded like "Thor"] in any language but Japanese? Regardless, I liked what I saw in this episode, it looks like a fun new action series, the main character feels sympathetic enough, doesn't go too insane over an even, and still feels modest enough. Not sure why but Strike the Blood comes to mind. |

The primary determining factor of power seems to be rotation speed.

Tooru met some interesting people..
That sure was an unusual first day of school. The fight part was nice. So the whole school is actually some sort of a lab. The characters look interesting & kinda fun. The harem part is not my thing, but if the story is good, I might give it a try. |

Oh yeah, I love these type of anime no matter how bad they are. Except for S2 of IS Stratos.

That was kind of fun. I've seen so many of these "battle school" type shows that I instinctively start to roll my eyes, but so far I'm liking this. I have a feeling spoiler[the girl Thor beat in the beginning] will be seen again.
I'm not super jazzed by Julie's "sexy baby girl" dealio, but hopefully they won't hit that gong too hard (yeah, right). Bunny Girl Sensei is awesome. I was disappointed they didn't use spoiler[the anime standard "cheeeeeee" sound when Julie was staring at Thor.] |

oh dear, Professor BunBun reminds me a lot of Becky-Sensei from No-Rin, and not in a good way. hopefully, like in No-Rin, she is used sparingly, because that voice is terrible

Boom! One day!
That's how long it took me to forget I had watched this. Really, just saw this topic and thought "Maybe I'll watch that next".... and then remembered I already did. So... memorable. |

Unexpectedly, I rather enjoyed that.
We got to see spoiler[Kirito and Asuna... uh I mean Tooru and Imari fight against each other. Tooru's blaze still looks quite awesome even though it's a shield.] Though the best defence is a good offence so I wonder how it will work when he has to go on the offensive. The spoiler[teachers all seem a little whack] if you ask me. I had the same reaction as the class when Bunny-Sensei arrived... What the....!? Ah she voiced Jibril in NGNL, makes perfect sense. Each character and their blazes look interesting enough and Julie is just so Kawaii. The OP and ED were quite good also, so I guess I'm going to pick up this show for the meantime. |

That guy sure has an interesting partner & roommate.
I see a harem forming soon.. and booby fan service. Guess this is not as action focused as it suggested in the 1st episode. Gave this another try & now I clearly see it's not for me. Dropping it. |

Harem? Nope. Not after four volumes of the novels. Action - like crazy. You're leaving an episode too early. If you don't like blood, don't watch episode 3 (guess here but the end of episode 2 corresponded with chapter eight of the manga, just before things started to go crazy). Nope, no other spoilers. Unfortunately too many bouncy breasts. One thing I wish they'd left out. There isn't much discussion of this in the novels, fortunately. |
