I bet it's a movie adaptation. The manga is only 1 tankobon volume long, so it's a bit short to adapt into a TV series unless they add filler.

Interesting! I was under the impression that Toriyama didn't want to create any more new anime projects after the Blue Dragon anime series.

But I'm not complaining! Very Happy A new Toriyama animated work has me all excited like get out! Very Happy

Considering that it's Bandai Namco making the announcement, I figure it'll be a video game, or maybe even a "media mix". So maybe a movie adaptation & a video game to go with.

Personally, I can see Sand Land work as a video game if it's an open exploration kind of game, where you drive around the land in your tank.

Has there ever been a more surprising announcement?

Exactly. I can only assume that the people talking about anime did not read the whole article.

Reading the article again, it does imply that a video game would be in the works. I stand corrected.

The ambiguity of the trailer didn't help matters though. Confused But, the Bandai Namco logo is the dead giveaway here.

That's unfortunate. I've been wanting to see Toriyama put out another animated work.
