This is sad. I wish her the best in whatever she chooses to do in the future.

That some vague information, dear lord KR, tell us if she's retiring or not at the very least.

Based on Google Translate it seems to have more information. Anyone who actually knows Japanese willing to help out?

I've heard speculation that Yukari Tamura is very much dreading her 40th birthday coming up later this month. I went through the same ennui leading up to my 40th birthday in 2014, but then I turned 40 and it was really no big deal. I still enjoy all the same stuff I enjoyed in my thirties and I don't really even feel all that much older than I did in my twenties other than needing more time to recover from injuries.

Basically your 40th birthday is just a birthday like any other, not an expiration date.

Sounds like she's just going though a mid-life crisis. Please don't retire, Yukarin!

I browsed it summarily. Most of it is reminiscing her time with King Records and thanking her fans and manager for their long time support.
She also clearly states that she intends to continue singing.
Quote:
契約は終了しますが、歌を歌うことをやめるわけではありません。

"My contract is ending, but it doesn't mean I will stop singing."

She also says that she cannot at this time announce the "new place" by which I suppose she means she can't announce her new record publisher yet.

Most of the entry centers around her music career and I didn't see anything about voice acting but since she isn't retiring from entertainment, I assume she would continue voice work too or at the very least reprise her former roles when asked.

It's sad that the fan club of Yukari Tamura is heading for a shutdown, but it's for the best. If anything, I think her being an idol for so long might have been the cause of her depression that she underwent. Here's hoping Yukarin will have better luck on her future endeavors. Smile

After reading her blog, it appears Yukari was just exhausted. Even in the West, the life of a singer does tend to take it's toll physically and mentally. So I feel she made the right decision, before something serious happened.

Now she can take a little vacation and reassess her life to see what she wants to do next. Start a family? Doing something else in the industry, like being a musical producer? Full-time songwriter? Or perhaps taking the opportunity to travel around the world?

Whatever she decides, I wish her the best!

Any reason why she and King Records had a falling out?

Sometimes artists just relaunch their fan clubs with a different name and terms and conditions (e.g. Minori Chihara, Masami Okui), other times they do shut down and not continue.

I don't want her to give up so soon. She still has so much things to do.
