Get a Virtual Front Row Seat to Singer Hikaru Utada's Kingdom Hearts Theme Song Performance

Singer Hikaru Utada is bringing her concert into PlayStation VR users homes on Friday. If you own a PlayStation VR set, you can watch Utada perform "Hikari" and "Chikai" for free beginning tomorrow. "Hikari" is the Japanese version of Utada's popular Kingdom Hearts theme "Simple and Clean" and "Chikai" is the Japanese version of the Kingdom Hearts III ending theme song "Don't Think Twice."

The VR concert's footage was filmed in November at Yokohama Arena with the use of three different cameras including a 3D crane camera. The official PlayStation channel is streaming a behind-the-scenes video that shows the work that went into creating a realistic virtual reality concernt experience.

Utada collaborated with with Skrillix on Kingdom Hearts III's opening theme song "Face My Fears" and performed the game's ending theme song "Don't Think Twice".

Utada celebrated her 20th anniversary as a singer last year. She released her album Fantôme in September 2016, her first in eight years, followed by the release of her newest album Hatsukoi in June 2018. The album's track "Good Night" was featured in the anime film Penguin Highway.
