BanG Dream! New Boy Band Project is Recruiting More Members
posted on by Kim Morrissy
Bushiroad announced last year that it would add some male idols to its BanG Dream! multimedia franchise. The first all-male group to be announced so far is "Argonavis," which consists of voice actors Shūta Morishima (keyboard), Seiji Maeda (bass), Daisuke Hyūga (guitar), Shōhei Hashimoto (drums), and Masahiro Ito (vocals).
On Tuesday, the band revealed its first key visual, depicting the members anime-style as drawn by project character designer Hikaru Miyoshi (Kanshikan Tsunemori Akane).
The BanG Dream! project has also announced that it is holding auditions for new boy bands tied to the Argonavis project. Applications are open from February 5 to 25. Men between the ages of 18 to 33 with experience holding guitar performances are encouraged to apply. Applicants do not need to be professionals in the industry. Bushiroad's website gives further details about how to apply.
Argonavis's first single "Goal Line" will debut on February 20. The boys will perform their first live concert on May 17 at the Maihama Amphitheater in Maihama, Chiba.
Bushiroad launched the BanG Dream! multimedia project in January 2015, and the company formed the all-female Poppin' Party band for the project in February 2015. The BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! smartphone game launched in Japan in March 2017, and an English version launched in April. The BanG Dream! television anime's first 13-episode season premiered in January 2017. The second season debuted on January 3 this year, and the third season will premiere in October.
