Metal Gear Online multi-player environment pits teams against one another

Kojima Production's online community manager Robert Peeler gave insight into Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain game's online tactical gameplay, Metal Gear Online, in a new video on Wednesday. In the video, Peeler explains the different character functions and teamwork shown in the new trailer.

Metal Gear Online is a multiplayer environment that pits teams against one another to complete objectives.

The game is slated to ship for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC. Metal Gear Solid V consists of two separate games: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes provides the backstory behind the events in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes already debuted on consoles in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Europe last year. Both games will be released for PC via Steam in the future.

Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima stated that he will consider the game as the last Metal Gear Solid title.

Kiefer Sutherland plays the role of Snake in the games produced and directed by Kojima. Yoji Shinkawa serves as character and mechanical designer, Hideki Sasaki as CG art director, Junji Tago as technical director, and Masayuki Suzuki as lighting artist.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain features Snake after he wakes up from a nine-year coma. Snake has lost a lot of his abilities, and must crawl through a hospital to escape.
