My Hero Academia Manga Tops U.S. Monthly Bookscan November List
posted on by Justin Piselli
The 10th volume of Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia manga ranked at #1 on NPD BookScan's Top 20 list for November.
The series' ninth volume previously ranked #1 on the BookScan list in August.
This month's list featured six manga volumes including:
- #5 — Katsuhiro Ōtomo's Akira 35th Anniversary Box Set
- #9 — Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul:re volume 1
- #13 — Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia volume 1
- #16 — Akira Himekawa's The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess volume 2
- #20 — Yana Toboso's Black Butler volume 24
The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Walmart.com, and some other venues.
NPD BookScan announced in September it plans to add in sales numbers from comic book stores in partnership with Diamond Comics and indie retailers in the coming year, but hasn't yet revealed a specific date the change will take place.
