Evo 2019 Tournament Unveils Fighting Game Lineup

The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) tournament revealed on Wednesday the lineup of fighting games for this year's Las Vegas tournament. The tournament will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on August 2-4. The games include:
- Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Tekken 7
- BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
- Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Soul Calibur VI
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Samurai Shodown
This is the first appearance of Samurai Shodown at the tournament in that franchise's history. The latest entry in the franchise was only announced last year. Wednesday's live stream announced that the new entry will have a summer 2019 worldwide release, shortly before the tournament.
The tournament will also feature Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] for the first time. While the game is the first in French Bread's Under Night In-Birth franchise to feature in the tournament, French Bread's previous Melty Blood: Actress Again, which includes characters from Type-Moon's Tsukihime franchise, was part of the tournament in 2010.
The organizers held Evo Japan, the first Evo tournament to be held in Japan, in January 2018. It returned with a second tournament earlier this month from February 15 to 17, though the venue moved to Fukuoka this year.
