Mirai and Collected Hellsing Ultimate Released Sunday

posted on by Andrew Osmond

On Monday July 15, Anime Limited will release Mamoru Hosoda's Oscar-nominated film Mirai as a Blu-ray, DVD and a Collectors Blu-ray/DVD/CD combo set (pictured). The combo set includes art cards, an A3 sized replica of a Japanese poster for the film and a 40-page booklet.

The film's story centres around a family living in a small house in an obscure corner of a certain city — in particular, the family's spoiled four-year-old boy KUN-chan. When KUN-chan gets a little sister named Mirai, he feels that his new sister stole his parents' love from him, and is overwhelmed by many experiences he undergoes for the first time in his life. In the midst of it all, he meets an older version of Mirai, who has come from the future.

Hosoda directed the film at his Studio Chizu, and is also credited as scriptwriter and for the original story. Hiroyuki Aoyama (animation director of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, and The Boy and The Beast) and Ayako Hata (key animator on the same films) returned for this new film as animation directors. Yohei Takamatsu and Takashi Omori, whom Hosoda had previously worked with on The Boy and The Beast, returned as art directors. Producer Yuichiro Saito returned from Hosoda's earlier films.

Manga Entertainment will release the ten-part series Hellsing Ultimate in Blu-ray and DVD sets. The series is based on the horror/action manga by Kouta Hirano. The main character is Alucard, a powerful vampire who exterminates other vampires in the service of the British Empire, alongside Seras, a fledgling vampire and former police woman.

MVM will release the second part of Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow, carrying episodes 13 to 26 of the series.

Manga Entertainment will release the second part of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card on Blu-ray, carrying parts 12 to 22 of the series.

Manga Entertainment will also release Black Clover Season 1 Part 3 on Blu-ray and DVD, carrying episodes 20 to 29 of the series.

Manga Entertainment will also release Naruto Shippūden on DVD, carrying episodes 473 to 486.
