A Big Name of Japanese Culture at Festival Nadeshicon

QUEBEC CITY (QC), February 18, 2019: Nadeshicon unveils its main guest for the edition to be held from March 29 to 31, 2019 at the Québec City Convention Centre: Aya Hirano, a Japanese voice actress and singer known for many roles in hit animes such as Fairy Tail, Death Note and Dragon Ball Super.

Nadeshicon is proud to receive the famous voice actress Aya Hirano. "Following our decision to move the Festival to the Québec City Convention Centre, it was essential for us to find a main guest who would live up to expectations. Aya Hirano appeared as a great solution that would reach several generations of anime fans!", says Marie-Pier Touzin, Marketing Director of the Festival.

Aya Hirano will perform a live show of her best hits. Two autograph sessions are scheduled and fans will also be able to submit their questions to the Festival, which the artist will answer during a conference.

Her achievements as a Seiyū
The career as a voice actor, or seiyū in Japanese, is very prestigious in Japan. Despite her young age, Aya Hirano is already among Japan's famous voice actresses thanks to the main characters she has played: Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail, Misa Amane from Death Note, Konata Izumi from Lucky☆Star and Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. She has received several awards for her roles, including the Voice Acting Award at the Tokyo Anime Awards and the Best Newcomer Award at the 1st Seiyū Awards. She also won the Best Leading Actress award at the 2nd Seiyū Awards in 2008.

In addition to these roles, she is also working in a series well-known to Quebecers, the Dragon Ball sequel, Dragon Ball Super, that started in 2015. She is the voice of the Namekian Dende who played an important role in the original series in the late 90s. Aya Hirano has voiced more than thirty characters and is also part of other well-known series such as Parasyte -the maxim-, Nana and Gintama°.

Aya Hirano, the singer
Aya Hirano's career is not limited to voice acting. She has also been singing since 2006 and has recorded several J-Pop albums with a pop rock style. Many voice acting roles have benefited from this talent. In 2013, she changed style and recorded TOxxxIC, a dance song produced by songwriter Steve Diamond (collaborating with Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Miley Cyrus).
